A brother and sister become friends with a very sunburned dolphin who has separated from his family, discovering a secret plan that could destroy the beach and the home of his new friend.

Ambi Group has partnered with the Fairway Film Alliance to fund and produce the live action feature “Bernie the Dolphin”, which Variety has exclusively learned.
Lola Sultan “This Beautiful Fantastic”has been chosen for the lead role, along with Kevin Sorbo, Patrick Muldoon and Stelio Savante. Kirk Harris will direct “Bernie the Dolphin” from a script written by Terri Emerson and Marty Poole.
The producers are the partners of the Fairway Film Alliance, Poole and Harris, and the directors of Ambi, Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, as well as Tony Armer, film commissioner for St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida. The executive producers are Barry Brooker and Stan Wertlieb with Stelio Savante as associate producer.
Sultan has appeared in more than 20 commercials, including the national spot Frito-Lay “Trade you”, which has been aired more than 15,000 times. You can see it below in “Monsters at Large.”
Ambi presented the project at the American Film Market and closed an agreement with Grindstone of Lionsgate for all of North America and 25 international territories.
AFM: ‘Bernie the Dolphin 2’ goes into production
The film takes place in Florida with a nine-year-old library worm and his 11-year-old brother forming a bond with a herd of local dolphins that they visit every day. Children almost drown while trying to thwart a plan that would destroy their hidden beach and be rescued by the dolphins. “Bernie the Dolphin” will be shot in January in Florida.
